PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

Clothing shall be well fitted in good condition, and must cover legs body and upper arms. When shirts and long pants are worn the shirt shall be buttoned and tucked into pants. Long sleeved shirts and coveralls must be worn cuffs fastened or sleeves rolled up

If clothing should become saturated with oil or chemicals, you should immediately remove the clothing, wash all parts of the body which have come in contact with the oil or chemical and then put on clean clothing. A doctor should be consulted if skin rash develops.

Use of safety toe shoes safety spectacles and approved safety helmets, in good condition is mandatory at all worksites.

Ear protection equipment must be worn at all times in excessively noisy areas. These locations and are defined with Noise Area Signs.

All personnel must wear spectacles type of safety glasses during their entire tour of work.

Safety goggles must be worn when clipping, scrapping. buffing, grinding hammering or when engaged in any activity involving hazards to the unprotected eye by flying or falling particles or objects.

A person working near other persons who are doing work requiring the use of safety goggles must also wear such goggles.

Gloves will prevent many minor injuries when handling rough materials or substances that can irritate the skin. Wear them whenever practical. Leather or leather-palm gloves should always be worn when handling wire rope. Cloth gloves afford adequate general protection.

Safety helmets must be worn whenever you are on site. Exceptions are when boarding aircraft or in living quarters.

Rubber boots may be required for work and will be furnished when needed, in wet areas or where large quantities of corrosive materials are used.

Suitable respirators must be worn when working personnel are subjected to respiratory contaminants.

Self-contained breathing apparatus must be worn in toxic or oxygen deficient atmospheres.

Safety Belts
 
i- A safety belt must be worn all times while working above ground! .platform/ water level unless other adequate protection against falling is provided.
 
ii- All safety belts shall be regularly inspected for excessive wear or damage that could cause them to fail. Belts worn or damaged to the extent that they could fail shall be destroyed-not discarded.

The wearing of jewelers such as rings, watchbands and the like on the job can cause or contribute to accidents in certain circumstances. The wearer should keep this in mind and take necessary precautions.
